Here Is TodayFor Us

Don't really have a subject for today. I will be glad when I am not required to make blogs any more. I really don't chit-chat to much. Still trying to think of something to say. But I did register for this class to learn my way around the computer and I am learning, thanks to Mrs. Beard.

How abut this. The way some people see a convenience could very well be an inconvenience for another. Take this morning when I got on the bus. Before I went to sleep last night while preparing for class today among other things to be done I counted out me money to pay for the bus fare, that included .50 cents in pennies. while inserting the money into the collector the driver made me aware that Lynx will not be excepting pennies anymore as if were not currency. How about that.

That is not the only time I had some one act as if excepting pennies were a problem. I've run into some cashiers that have a problem with excepting pennies as if it were not American currency. I believe that is out of laziness. I served as a cashier before once at McDonald's restaurant and again working for Walgreens. I never have given a customer a hard time about paying for their purchase using pennies even if it were a lot of them. It is all in a days work. It seems to me that if a person did not like their job they should find another one.

What is so bad about pennies? What is worse, I've seen people actually throw them away.
If there are any of you out there that reads this and throw away pennies, please give them to me. I except pennies any time.

Rebel Daughter Sueing Parents

I really didn't have anything to write about for this blog so I pick up a news paper sort of speak to come up with this. An 18 year woman by the name or Rachel Canning from New Jersey is attempting to abstract money from her parents.

She has decided to become rebellious toward here parents by not following their rules at home and on top of that she has decided to go live with someone else.

So now the people she has moved in with are supporting her attempt to get money from her parents. I say if you want to take care or house this person then you should pay the cost to do so.

Social Networks

Today my computer class talked about using social networks on the internet.

I do not belong to any of the social networks. The reason why not is basically I never had a practical reason to. I suppose if I did a lot of chit chat it would come in handy. Now if I were a merchant or trying to sell something a social network would be a way to reach hundreds if not thousands of people all over the world to market my product. Just to speak to a person the telephone is the way for me or even writing a letter still works. If I knew this person would be inconvenienced by a phone call and I did not require an immediate response I could send an e-mail or a text message.

GOOD NEWS

I can finally do blogs from home. A friend of my brother did something with the computer that cleared some viruses or what ever. This proves to be very helpful. Before I was able to do this at the school library only. As I am writing this blog, I'm wondering if now I can also do the mind maps. I'll try that next.

Computers are such a mystery to me but I am catching on to more and more. I'm even getting more familiar with the keyboard, I type a little faster. Sometimes I find myself not looking the keyboard.

Before this class all I ever did on the computer was fill out job applications and did that with the help of the people at the workforce center.

I am doing better than I expected.

I just took my midterm test from another class and got an A. I am really surprised. I am doing as well as I am. When I lost my job at Universal Studios, I didn't know what I was going to do.

I started job hunting. I went to the Workforce building near the Florida Mall every day for months to fill out job applications on the Internet. I literally filled out hundreds of applications.

When filling out applications on line, sometimes you run into an ad asking if you are interested in furthering your education. The thing about that, you must respond in order to proceed with the application.

Subsequently I started receiving phone calls from educational institutions and turned them all down except one. I chose to further my education at CITY COLLEGE. I am glad I made that decision. I thank Clair in the office for that. Her presentation was excellent and I was convinced that it was the right thing to do. "I Love Her".

This might not mean so much to anyone else but I am actually getting a grasp on how to use the computer and the internet, thanks our Mrs. Erika. This helps me do better with my other class assignments. I just recently figured out how I can copy documents from the internet then paste them in my compose email from home where I don't have access to a printer so later I can print them once I get to the school library. I am so proud of me.

Hello Class

This is so frustrating. I still am unable to blog from home. I don't know why. I am open to suggestions. Do I need to down load some type of software or what? I went to a class today on ADA Format Workshop. Now I will again attempt to do my report on The Evolution Of Computers.
Another thing I am unable to do is the Mind Maps. I was able to bring the web site up but unable to make it work. I asked the people here in the library for help and they told me that the computers here will not allow me to download the software from the site. I am having a difficult time getting through this. I don't know what to do.

Other than that, may days are not so bad. I am moving along in my other class, but I need this computer class to learn to complete other task that comes with that class.

My Second Blogg

Hello Fellow Bloggers

This my second time blogging. To bad I had wait until I got back to class to do it. All week long after my first class I've been trying to make this second one, I could not for the life of me remember how to do it. Certainly not like riding a bicycle. You Know the phrase, It's like riding a bike once you learn you never forget, because I did it the first time and couldn't do it again until I got with the professor the next week.

Good news my class book just got in, so I don't have to fall behind on my reading. I am going to have to do some catching up on the other assignments, weekly blog, follow my classmate's blogs, then comment on three of them.

Well here I go I would say I am finally of to a running start. Good Luck to all of you and I look forward to seeing you in class next week.

Greetings

Hello Fellow Bloggers

I am a new student at City College. I am in my first day in computer class and I am learning how to post blogs and what a blog is. This is new to me. I never before used a computer this way. Beside blogging, I've learned how to send an email. I am on my way to a new way to communicate.  This fills difficult for me. I never was any good at coming up with something to talk about out of the clear blue sky.  I do have interest though, for example, I love machines and repairing them. One of my favorite machines is the helicopter, it's fascinating to me one day I will get my hands on one.

I also like playing music. I play guitar and the piano or keyboards. I got my first guitar for Christmas when I was fourteen years old. I didn't even know I was interested in playing until then. I woke up Christmas morning, went to the Christmas tree to look for my gifts and the first thing I saw was the guitar and an amplifier with my name on it. Along with it was a song book. this song book. The book had songs consisting of the lyrics, the music staff and illustrations on how to make the chords in the songs. That was exciting for me. I literally hours at a time. Most of the time more than three. I love the guitar and still play to this day.

Now about the piano. My Mom bought my brother an I an organ when I was about ten years old. I did play around with it a little bit to the point where I could play a couple of Christmas songs, even though what I did was play single notes for the melody like Joy To The World and Silent Knight. When I was in my late thirties, I was in a pawn shop looking and saw a keyboard, I think for about $50.00. I figured it would be good to learn to play keyboards so I bought it. Went to the music store purchased a chord book and sheet music to a couple songs that I liked. So now I play both guitar and keyboards. With this skill now I can play songs with out having to have full band. The keyboard comes equipped with drum patterns in it's program. So I can choose a drum pattern, play the piano chords, save the two together and play them back with a push of a button. While that playback is happening, I play the guitar and sing in the microphone live to do a show. Knowing how to do this gives me some fun in my life
